Managerial Microeconomics
Economics 411
The Wharton School

This course presents an introduction to microeconomic theory and its application. It is the foundation course for advanced studies in economics at the undergraduate level. Course topics include the economic decisions of individuals and firms, the determination of prices and quantities of individual, complementary, and substitute goods, and the structure of markets. The course also addresses the question of market failure and the rationale for government policies such as taxation and income redistribution.

This course is distinguished from traditional introductory microeconomics courses by its focus on how economics can enhance decision making within a manager's organization. Students will develop an understanding of the economic environment in which the firm operates and how to think strategically within that environment.
